‘Patio’ chooses Fajr Int’l Filmfest for launchpad

Iranian director Maryam Bahrololoumi’s film ‘Patio’ chooses Fajr Int'l Filmfest in Iran for global premiere.

‘Patio’ director said to local media that her film chose the 36th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival as the launchpad--an event to be held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran in April 2018.

“Since it has been important for me to have first screening of my film in a domestic festival, I participated at the 36th Fajr Film Festival,” Bahrololoumi said.

Some of the actors starring in the film include Behnaz Jafari, Ali Yaghoubi, Babak Ansari, Pouriya Poursorkh and Karim Amini.

The film is currently in the editing stage of production, but is expected to be ready for the Fajr event next year.

The 36th Fajr International Film Festival will be held from April 19-27, 2018.

So far, more than 600 filmmakers from 35 countries have applied to take part in various sections of the festival.
